Christian Hogue: Chapter Two

If you follow us on Instagram, you know all about our models. From day one, way back when in 2011 when we first launched we've always had handsome, rugged fellas that embody the aura of what we consider a SMITH man.

After a pandemic induced hiatus of no photoshoots for a couple of years, in 2022 we decided to come back in a BIG way, by doing a photoshoot with Christian Hogue. And.. you probably have seen those photos all over our Instagram, TikTok, Blog, etc...

Cut to two years laters we knew we wanted to do a second shoot with Mr. Hogue:

The main thing is that we wanted to do something COMPLETELY different than our first photoshoot that was all about a Summer Day in Pasadena, CA

So for this round we wanted the opposite. Cozy, woods, mountains, cabins, and a stay-in vibe.

We found the coolest sport with our friends of the Topanga-A-Frame (via Peerspace). And it was basically this location that guided the whole concept of the photoshoot.

Christian is really one of the top male models for a reason. The guy knows exactly what to do when the camera is pointing towards him.

In true WAAS behind-the-scenes documentary we took tons of Polaroids. I find that by using different cameras, the content you capture has a lot more range. You can capture the same scene with your Leica, your phone, your Polaroid and almost have the content from three different photoshoots.

All these were shot with the Polaroid I-2 Camera and as a photographer of 23 years I can tell you the camera does not disappoint. Having manual controls for your aperture and shutter is a dream come true for us photographers who used to have Polaroid backs for our film cameras way before digital and were used to producing Polaroids to test the light basically at every single photoshoot we did before we each switched to digital.
